Second half of the house is in place

Continuing from where we left off yesterday. First half of the house was mounted yesterday and today early morning the work on the second half started early.

The project team is a bunch of very professional guys. Everything is done on time according to the plan. By noon the second half of the house was mounted in place.

After lunch they started mounting the roof. By the end of the day around 5 pm the roof was put in place too. Now we just have to wait for the roof tiles to be put on top.

Now we can see the full house standing in front of us.

Tomorrow the guys will start the work on the inside. Right now the look on the inside is raw. It is just a skeleton at the moment, but in a few days walls, floor, kitchen, laundry room and bedrooms will start taking shape. Below is a quick sneak peak of how it looks currently inside the house.

I will keep the blog updated with new posts and pictures. Good night!!

Big day... half the house is already in place

Today was the real action day. The house arrived from the Myresjöhus factory and by the end of the day the first floor of the house was put in place. The weather was great and it was like a picnic for us.
We arrived on site at around 7 am and the guys had already started working. We took our breakfast, drinks and some snacks with us. Linus was still sleepy when we arrived.

We opened the rear door of the car and sat there eating our breakfast watching the guys unload the big trucks and putting the outer walls of the house in place, one by one.
Linus later offered some cinnamon buns to the guys working there which they readily accepted. They must have been hungry as they started working early in the morning.

Later the project leader brought food and drinks for everyone. The guys took a break after putting the outer walls in place. As we had already eaten the breakfast we had brought with us, we thanked the project leader, but skipped the food he had brought. We instead took the opportunity to sneak inside the house to get our first glimpse of the still unfinished house.

I can't describe the amazing feeling. We were actually standing inside of our house. In a few months time we will be moving in and start living here.

After the break was over the guys immediately got back to work without wasting any time. They then emptied the second big truck which had the ceiling for the lower floor and for the veranda.
By the end of the day (5 pm) they were done mounting the lower floor. There is still lot of work to be done on the inside, but from outside it looked perfect.

Now we wait for yet another big truck to arrive tomorrow with the walls and materials for the upper floor. Actually it will be the same truck that came with the walls and materials for the lower floor. Mikael, the driver will go back to Myresjö and bring back the upper floor today evening itself. Then the guys will start putting the upper floor early in the morning tomorrow.
So that is how the day went today. Now we wait for tomorrow when we will get to see the full size of the house.
I will be posting more stuff tomorrow. Good night!!
